by Roberto da Silva

“One of his most important theses focused on the role of dialogue, both in daily life and in academic practice itself. Graeber left a great mark on social theory, but in particular he developed ideas that are also tools for protest movements - both ethnographies that allow for self-reflection and different ways of seeing the world and, thus, analyzing its current situation.”

This is a quote from Peterson Roberto da Silva’s article, “In Memoriam: David Graeber (1961-2020)”, written in Portuguese and dedicated to Graeber. Peterson Roberto da Silva is a substitute professor at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Florianópolis, Brazil.
