A brief discussion with Martin Sandbu and Lucy Kellaway, journalists at the Financial Times, about the cultural references in the book and how bureaucracy works and affects our lives. In the end, they commented that bureaucracy can sometimes be efficient, using Deutsche Post as an example. But David responded that this is a fantasy when you look at what Lenin did: “I don’t think anybody was quite satisfied with the results.”
