In On the Phenomenon of Shitty Jobs (Tantarantana, 2015), the director takes David Graeber’s famous article as his starting point to build a show of short, intense and direct stories where we ask ourselves what “work” is, how it identifies us and why we dedicate the most important part of our lives to it.

Synopsis:
In recent years, a whole class of wage workers has emerged—people who, when they run into an old friend at a party, will do everything they can to avoid talking about their job. Give them a drink, and within five minutes they’ll launch into bitter rants about how pointless, boring, and downright absurd their work is. How can we even begin to talk about the dignity of labor when we spend eight hours a day doing jobs that shouldn’t exist? How can we not feel that familiar mix of sadness and resentment?
