Bullshit Jobs (in Catalan)
This is a summary of the book Bullshit Jobs. The author refers to the well-known case of a Spanish civil servant who stopped going to work for six years in order to study Spinoza. He also mentions the original 2013 article that preceded the book. The piece discusses the idea that three-quarters of the workforce are engaged in useless jobs and outlines the five main categories of bullshit jobs. It concludes with a call for universal basic income, echoing Graeber’s words as a call for freedom.

Comments by DGI volunteer Pere Carrillo Camps:
I think it’s a good summary of Bullshit Jobs. What I find particularly curious is that it was published by a foundation dedicated to personnel management. As a reflection: while they may have good intentions, I doubt that the working conditions have changed significantly in most of the companies or institutions they collaborate with—at least from the perspective of the workers themselves.
