Majority Report w/ David Graeber on Democratic Confederalism in Northern Syria
David Graeber outlines why what’s going on in Turkish Syria may be the most important ongoing historical event. Graeber outlines the radical anti-capitalist and feminist elements of the Kurds. How anti-immigrant forces in Europe and America are working in sync with Turkish and ISIS interests.
A pre-recorded interview with David Graeber on the Kurdish forces fighting in Syria. David Graeber explains that this should be considered one of the most important events in the recent world history since this is the first time since 1930s Spain when a group of people try to create democracy without a state. They are in control of a significant part of the territory – about 2/5 of Syria. They follow the idea that it is impossible to get rid of capitalism without getting rid of states and it is impossible to get rid of states without getting rid of patriarchy, which underpins all forms of power.
